Good for her. 1,500 baht for two days work (even three) is very good money for most parts of Thailand.

Whenever I have to come up with a gift, if I haven't already given a woven cloth from Thailand, that's my first choice (guy or gal). The Thai workman ship is something I'm proud to share with friends.

Yes, it is good money, but for highly skilled work. I think it is very satisfying to buy directly from someone who has actually produced the item. Perhaps it is nice for her to know who has bought it, too. That was the impression I got when she claimed the piece Pensri had bought earlier.
It's also nice that so much of the work that Thais (men and women)do like this 'on the side' can be combined with child-care, looking after the house, and so on.

I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
