martin cutler

could always be a 'visitor' or guest??

Lawrence

Hi Martin, thanks for your comment and the read. In fact, the Thais use their word for visitor/guest to refer to people from India and anyone who looks like them, such as arabs, for instance.
Hope you are both keeping warm!

Lawrence: We don't use the word "Expat" here in the U.S., at least to my knowledge. I've been living here in the U.S. for almost 40 years and still an "Immigrant".
